Accessing Government Services

Australian Taxation Office (ATO)

The ATO is the principal revenue collection agency of the Australian Government. The resources show how to apply for a tax file number (TFN) and lodge a tax return.

How to lodge a tax return

This is an interactive video with supporting transcripts.

Community members can choose to find out more about:

  1. Lodging a tax return for the first time.
  2. How to lodge correctly.
  3. What happens after you lodge.

Video does not mirror what community members will see in myGov and it can be a little challenging finding the right information within the video due to the different options in the interactive video.
