ShelterWA
Shelter WA continues representation and advocacy so that the issues of our members, organisations, their staff and clients are understood and that services are provided with the funding and resources needed during this period. Representation and advocacy continues through participation on a number of COVID-19 taskforces. For information on these please click here.
I am pleased to see that the McGowan Government made the decision to look at housing those people experiencing homelessness in City hotel rooms to protect them from contracting COVID-19. This is a great first initiative developed by government in partnership with the community sector, but so much more needs to be done. Read our Shelter WA Media Release here.
We are prototyping an Advocacy in Action tracker to update and monitor the progress of sector issues. This is a work in progress – to keep up to date on how issues are progressing please click here.
Also we are keen to hear from you. If there are issues or suggestions that you would like to bring to our attention please send these through this this online form.
