Leave of Absence Request

A Financial Counsellor who is no longer practicing can apply for a Leave of Absence. They must continue to meet annual professional development requirements and are able to attend training and professional development opportunities provided by FCAWA without charge. They are not required to undertake supervision. An Accredited Financial Counsellor who is not working as a financial counsellor can continue with their Accredited membership as long as they fulfill the professional development requirements and pay the full membership fee. If they return to the workforce they will be required to undertake 10 hours of supervision for the first year of their return, regardless of the number of hours they work.
